World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes day is on 14 November 2024.
Remember: Nobody sees it. The middle of the night jelly babies to treat your hypo. The stress of doing the weekly food shop. The raised eyebrows at beeping tech in the office. The fact they weren’t the first person to ask ‘should you be eating that?’ or suggest ‘you brought it on yourself’.
Nobody asked for this.
But if people knew…how that well-meaning comment actually made you feel, how many decisions you had to make in a day, or how important it is to see ‘you’ behind your diabetes, it would make a huge difference. It does make a huge difference.
Diabetes is a condition occurring as either Type 1 or Type 2; both types can be life-changing if not treated but also be well managed with regular monitoring and treatment.
