Inclusive educational language policies: Multilingual Learners at the centre
Friday 20th October – 08:30 – 16:15
There are a limited number of places available to attend.
To celebrate one year of the Jersey Language Policy for Education, we are bringing together practitioners, administrators, and researchers working on all areas of the Language Policy, which includes English as an Additional Language, Multilingual Learners, and World Languages. The morning will be dedicated to multilingualism, multilingual learners, and EAL. The afternoon will have a variety of options for classroom teachers, EAL/multilingualism specialists, and specific content for World Languages.
This event is a one of a kind interactive day with workshops from practitioners and specialists, a visit to primary schools to see excellence in action, and a closing keynote by Dr. Florence Bonacina-Pugh, co-convenor of the Language Policy Forum as well as co-leader of the Research Hub in Languages, Interculturality and Literacies at the University of Edinburgh.
