Christmas has come to the Student Life lounge and the tree was decorated with help from the students who joined us this week. It was all-in-all a great atmosphere in the lounge. We also offered Christmas crafting activities with hot chocolate and Cadburys ‘heroes’ available. It was particularly lovely to have the JPQ Childcare students join us; they made some really beautiful Christmas cards and gift tags.
Breakfast trolley
Free breakfast items available from student life continue to be welcomed by many students and our numbers seem to grow each week. An average figure of the past 3 weeks is 58 students which is great news. This also provides a good opportunity each morning to welcome students into college and to ask how they are.
Team news
Deborah has successfully completed the Level 4 ATHE Working Effectively with Children, Individuals and Families programme. She has received excellent feedback for the work she has completed and this will contribute further to the knowledge and skills within the team. Well done, Deborah!
New Piano In Café Lounge
A lovely second-hand Yamaha piano has recently been donated to the College and is now in its new home in the Café Connect lounge. The piano is for any student to use and is proving popular. If you know of any student or staff member who likes to play but may not be aware that we have this facility, please let them know and we will look forward to hearing them soon!
