Skills Competition 2024

Today, we hosted the first pan-island skills competition!

This collaborative initiative brought together apprentices from Highlands College, The Guernsey Institute, and University College Isle of Man. The competition saw students from each college competing in a series of timed challenges that tested their skills in their chosen trades: plumbing, electrical engineering, and carpentry. The competitors had the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and problem-solving abilities under the scrutiny of industry professionals who made up the judging panel.

The event ended with an Awards Ceremony, where the top two performers in each category were recognized for their achievements. The occasion aimed to showcase and celebrate the diverse talents of apprentices who were pursuing vocational skills across the three islands.
