- Highlands College estate
- Results day arrangements for 2026

Staff Representatives Meeting
I will also be meeting this week with our volunteer staff representatives. These are always positive and insightful discussions, offering valuable feedback about what is working well and where we can continue to improve. Thank you to everyone involved for giving your time and voice.
SLT Deep Dive & Strategic Work
The Senior Leadership Team has a morning dedicated this week to working on site and carrying out a deep dive into several key areas:
- College Quality Improvement Plan
- Progress to date and any barriers
- Risks and lockdown procedures
- Budget priorities for the year
Now that budgets are fully uploaded by CYPES, we can ensure they align accurately with our strategic priorities.
Thank you for your patience and contributions during this process.
Parents and Carers’ Evenings
These are taking place face-to-face this week and online next week. I hope all goes smoothly.
These conversations are so valuable—both for our parents and for us—as direct communication plays a vital role in student progress.
Governance & New Campus Planning
Work continues behind the scenes on the business case for a new campus. Background materials are being prepared at the request of CEO Andrew McLaughlin.
On 26th March, we have a full Governing Body meeting, during which we will adopt the new Scheme of Delegation, clearly outlining roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for the Governing Body, the Executive, and the Government of Jersey.
Timetable & Assessment Entries
The timetable guidance for 2026–2027 will be signed off by the end of March.
Entries for:
- BTEC external assessments
- Maths GCSE retakes
- English GCSE retakes
…have been completed or are currently being finalised. Thank you to everyone involved for your attention to detail during this busy period—Easter will be here before we know it!
Events on Campus & Logistics
We have 14 events booked at the College this month. Huge thanks to Jessica and the team, who are managing this workload brilliantly despite currently operating at around 50% staffing.
A particular challenge will be the Jersey Eisteddfod from 9th–14th March, which will draw many parents to site. Parking pressures are expected, and the team is working hard to plan solutions.
Thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility.
Wishing you a great week!
I hope you have a wonderful week working with your students and colleagues.
With best wishes,
Jo
