Principal’s Update
Dear Colleagues,
Transition Days went smoothly for the 6th form. James has collated the data below :-
Over the two days we saw 437 students.
- This represents 96%of students who have confirmed their offer to date.
 - This represents 67%of all offers made.
 - 41 students were ill/off island or already working!

Employability have received 188 survey returns so far from the year 11s who joined us and …
- 100% had a positive experience
 - 95% said they were ready to start here in September.

Open evening for Prospective Parents and Carers was well-received and it was a good opportunity to allay any fears for families about the post-16 transition to college. Great efforts and outcomes for all involved.
UCJ have had their award boards for the degree students, and they have been professionally organised and led. The quality assurance demands are quite different for degrees, so I appreciate the time and effort having gone into making these run so smoothly. Thank you to Ben, Saffyre, Helena and all the UCJ staff.
Registry have analysed the results of the staff survey and there was a great deal of positive distance travelled. Danielle Schenk, Compliance, and HR will identify follow up actions for the new term.
This week I will be attending the Inclusion Review Delivery Board which monitors the roll-out of the NASEN recommendations. I will be joining the Marketing and Events team for their “Away Day” where they will be assessing progress against the strategy and re-prioritising projects and development work. On Friday, I have invited all staff to a workshop (session 2) on the new College Strategy. I have asked TLD to split the groups into teaching and support staff as I intend to make staff a key area of focus in the new plan, and I want to hear the different perspectives of colleagues performing distinct roles. I look forward to seeing you all.
