October: ADHD Awareness Month
ADHD Awareness Month
Tomorrow marks the start of October, which is also ADHD Awareness Month. It’s an annual observance to raise awareness for people living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Deputy Head from Springfield School- Anthea Carroll, a specialist in ADHD, will be hosting a “lunch and learn” session for staff during on Wednesday 9 October. A calendar invite has been shared with staff and was sent by Zoe Mountford.
The session taking place in October fits in amazingly well with our Inclusion visit from Sarah Le Good. It will support us further in keeping with the Ordinarily Available document delivery. Half an hour of informative chat with free sandwiches… What more could you want!
A reminder that the sessions on Wednesday 9 October are:
Students – In the Great Hall at 11:45am.
Staff – Lunch & Learn in TU 108 at 12.30.

International Day of Sign Languages
Knowing and using sign language can help people with a hearing disability feel more included. International Day of Sign Languages was Monday 23 September – and while it was a week ago, it is a great opportunity to use this time to think about learning a sign language, such as BSL (British Sign Language).
