Newts On The Loose
Students showed resilience surveying for two weeks in rain and cold conditions and were rewarded with two newt sightings!
Pond dipping results also included beetle larvae and dragonfly larvae, showing the pond is healthy enough to support predators.
The students are continuing to survey Le Pre Arthur Meadow as part of ongoing monitoring for the health of the marsh and to develop their practical skills in different environments.
All newt handling was completed in compliance with Jersey Wildlife Law 2021 under licence.
