Learning Support Update
Study Skills Sessions
Over in Learning Support we started a new process where we are running regular Study Skills sessions each week incorporating several curriculum areas and course levels within the College. We design bespoke programmes to accommodate any needs you require for your whole class, small groups or individuals. These involve organisation of work sessions, starting assignment tips and support, revision techniques for exams and any other support required to ensure our students have the skills to complete the requirements of their course. We can come to you in your curriculum area, or your students can come and use our study room in Nightingale 110.
“Zoe organised a revision class for our Level 2 Beauty students, which was excellent for giving the learners multiple ways of revising. Zoe encouraged the learners to pick the exam questions apart allowing them to explore ways of finding new techniques and methods within groups, which built upon previous future skills classes.
The learners engaged and communicated together well with Zoe’s hands on and motivational approach. I feel it hugely benefited the learners and myself. Thank you 😀”
“The in-class support sessions offered by ALS have been great for improving student motivation and independent study skills; learners are able to identify their own needs and to receive tailored help and advice within the classroom.”
