Automotive Rally Fun
Our second-year Level 2 automotive apprentices recently got a taste of what itβs like to prepare a competition vehicle.
Former Automotive Studies student Richard Le Marquand brought his Ford Escort Mk1 Rally car to the college, where students had the opportunity to see how adjustments to the vehicle’s air-fuel ratio can help produce reliable and consistent power. Engine mapping specialist Simon Le Noa assisted with this process on the workshop’s rolling road.
Richard and his Co-Driver Trevor had a great weekend, finishing the main rally without incident 20th overall and 6th in class! They also won the handbrake trophy for most impressive use of handbrake turns over the course of the event! ππ
