From cafe to canal: Raising money for the MND Association
Over the summer, two of our Cafe Connect team took part in a fundraiser for the Jersey Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Frankie Le Quelenec and Christine De Heaume were part of a ladies masters crew who rowed 167km over five days along the Canal du Midi in France. Along their journey 41 lochs had to be crossed on foot as rowing is not allowed, adding even more exercise to their already busy schedule.
The team, made up of six incredible women, have a combined age of 369! Others in the team are: Sue Clinton, Sue Cubbon, Tina Tidy and Lorraine McClure.
The ladies have also taken part in the Gorey to Carteret coastal rowing race, which totalled 27km from Jersey to France, and the Sark to Jersey coastal rowing race, also 27km.
