Moves
- Careers & Employability team are moving into the Nightingale building.
- Marketing team to move into the University building (HIC)
- Sharon Ward & HR to move into the Turner Building (marketing office)
Summer Works
University Building:
- Classrooms 307,308,309,310 & 312 & corridor, (additional desks & chairs, new carpet tiles and redecoration)
- Classroom 213 – (repair of ceiling and skirting)
Turner Building:
- Classrooms 01, 02, 05, 09, 24, & 108 (new desks & chairs, new carpet tiles and redecoration)
- Classrooms 12 & 13 (new furniture)
- Classroom 017 (new desk & chairs)
- Classroom 228 (replacement blinds)
- Ground floor ladies’ toilets, converting disabled shower into disabled toilet.
Nightingale building:
- Rooms 115, 116, 360, Offices 104,105,107,108 & student life ( new desks & chairs, new carpet tiles & redecoration)
Construction & Engineering Building:
- Classroom 10 (new desks & chairs & redecoration)
- Old Chemical storage room (redecoration)
- Classroom 102 (new flooring)
- Storeroom 6 (new flooring & redecoration)
Stephenson Building:
- Corridor, Classrooms 102 & 106 (redecoration)
- Staff & Students toilets (refurbishment)
- Main entrance barrier matting being replaced.
Art Building:
- Staircase nosing replacements.
Media Building:
- Ground floor lobby kitchenette being converted into I-locker/vending machine storage due to fire report
PSC:
- Staircase – replacing steps (nosing)
Health & Safety

IMPORTANT NOTICE
CHAIRS “are to sit on, not stand on”.
It has come to our attention that several staff are using chairs to stand on when changing display boards around the college.
This is against H&S practices and can be potentially dangerous.
Please use a footstool or step ladder, there are various footstools and stepladders around the college. However, if you are unable to find one, then please contact the caretakers.
FIRE DOORS
A reminder, that under the fire regulations it is illegal to block fire escape routes and wedge fire doors open.
Please can you ensure that all fire doors, in your areas, are not wedged open or fire routes blocked.

Notifiable = 10
- 1 x split/crush cut/ pinch finger.
- 1 x Hurt leg playing football.
- 1x Broken collarbone, playing football.
- 2 x Cuts – Culinary Kitchen & Mechanical Garage
- 2 x Seizure Care plan followed.
- 1 x Psychotic episode ambulance called.
- 1 x Cut index finger left hand.
- 1 x Slip/ Trip/ Fall – Chair used to change display board.
Accidents = 10
- 5 x Cuts
- 1 x Bruising
- 1 x Burn.
- 1 x slip/trips/falls
- 2 x Object in eye (sawdust & dust)
Near Misses = 9
- Ceiling tile fell from ceiling.
- Potential slip hazard -Water leak theatre kitchen
- Potential Cut – Damage door window frame
- Student may have dripped antifreeze into his mouth (antifreeze into his mouth)
- Potential trip hazard – Loose stair tread
- Potential Electrical shock
- Plastic light diffuser fell off.
- Potential Cut – Metal push sign on door
- Potential slip/trip hazard – Step has come loose on steps.
