Department Awards
Justin De Gruchy Sales and Design manager of Yesss Electrical presented £50 vouchers to four students from the JPQ Mechanical/Electrical Services and Welding JPQ course on Friday 14th June in recognition of their excellent work on the course.
Outstanding student of the year Group A – William Dagilan.
William has worked hard all year and has showed exceptional dedication to the course achieving D* (Distinction Star) in achieving his diploma. He obtained nine distinctions out of a possible ten. Fantastic work. William is currently working in the plumbing department of AFM with a view to obtaining an apprenticeship and returning to college in September.
Most Improved student of the year Group A – Zak Currie. Zak found the course very difficult in the early stages and was getting frustrated and wondered if this was the right course for him. However, with the support of his tutors Zak turned a corner and worked tirelessly for the rest of the course achieving the full diploma with a grade of Distinction. Zak is currently working part time for Yesss electrical where he is held in high regard by the management and staff.
Outstanding student of the year Group B – Jacinto Alves. Jacinto has put in a really good years work especially in the second half of the year. His practical work in all disciplines has been to a very high standard and he achieved his full diploma with the grade of D* (Distinction Star). Jacinto is currently working part time in the electrical department of Health and Community Services.
Most Improved student of the year Group B – Corbin Walsh. Corbin has showed enormous potential in all disciplines of the course and has impressed all tutors with his dedication. In the plumbing and electrical units he worked extra classes and was rewarded with four distinctions. Fantastic effort. He is currently carrying out some work with Jersey Enterprise Trust.
Superb achievement by these students supported by their excellent tutors.
