Christmas Party – All you need to know
Overview
The party will take place at the Hotel Ambassadeur on Thursday 19 December, starting at 2:00 PM, with lunch served at 2:30 PM.
Transport 🚌
A minibus shuttle service will be available, thanks to the support of volunteers John Travert, Dom Glennon, and Liam McDermott.
- Pickup Location: HIC
- Start Time: 1:30 PM
- Seats: First come, first served
If you’d like to use this service, please be ready and waiting at the HIC on time, as the minibuses will not wait for late arrivals.
For those not using the minibuses, carpooling is encouraged. The hotel has assured us that parking will not be an issue, so if someone in your team can assist as a designated driver, that would be a great option.
Seating 🪑
There is no formal seating plan, except for one reserved table to assist someone in need.
The Menu 🍴
No pre-orders are required, as the hotel staff will take orders at the table.
- Cheese Board: There is an additional charge for anyone ordering a cheese board. Please ensure payment is settled with the hotel before leaving.
Festive Photos 📸
A dedicated area will be set up with a backdrop and Christmas props for selfies. Capture the festive spirit and share your holiday cheer!
The Christmas Draw 💵
This year’s Christmas Draw is back with 250 boxes available at £2 each.
- Prizes: 🥇£125 🥈£75 🥉£50
- Payment: Cash only
50% of the proceeds will be donated to the following charities chosen by the Highlands College SALT students for the 2024/25 academic year:
- The Grace Trust
- Macmillan Cancer Support (Jersey)
- Jersey Marine Conservation
- Malindi Bright Futures Academy
Naughty or Nice Cards 😈😇
Each table will have Naughty or Nice Cards. Share a fun or memorable story about yourself or a colleague from this year, mark it as “Naughty” or “Nice,” and place it in the box at the front. These stories will be read by our speaker throughout the evening.
Human Christmas Trees 🎄
This year, we’re introducing a new Christmas-themed competition after the meal: Human Christmas Trees!
- Each table will select and create their very own Human Christmas Tree using decorations provided by Vicky Trehorel.
- Feel free to bring any non-sentimental decorations from home (please note we cannot guarantee their safe return).
- An expert judging panel will award prizes, with hampers for the winner and runner-up.
The DJ 🎶
James Bennett will be our DJ for the evening, spinning a fantastic selection of songs.
The Afterparty 👯
A private area has been arranged at The Square by the Weighbridge for the afterparty, starting at 7:30 PM.
- Please note that minibuses will not be available to transport guests into town.
- The Number 1 bus runs every 15 minutes from the Lighthouse to Liberation Station.
