Automotive at the Motoring Festival
Highlands College Automotive Department was on show at this year’s Jersey International Motoring Festival. Our stand featured cutting-edge automotive technology with one electric vehicle and one hybrid vehicle. These vehicles attracted a great deal of attention, showcasing our commitment to sustainable and innovative automotive solutions.
In addition to our vehicle display, we brought back the highly popular Wheel Change Challenge. Festival attendees eagerly participated, testing their skills and speed in changing a car wheel. This year, the challenge was particularly exciting as Rocco Alldis, one of our talented Level 2 day release automotive students, set a new record. Rocco completed the wheel change in a remarkable 1 minute and 15 seconds, smashing last year’s record and demonstrating both the skill and training that our students receive.
The event was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community, highlight the talents of our students, and promote the future of automotive technology. We are incredibly proud of Rocco and all our students who participated, showcasing the high standards and dedication within our department.
