🔹Visual Stress Testing and Exam Provisions
Visual Stress Testing
Many of you will have met Sarah Wijsmuller at the Learning Support Knowledge Café, where she re-shared information about Visual Stress Testing and its benefits for students. We are pleased to announce that Sarah is now Learning Support’s lead keyworker for all matters relating to Visual Stress Testing.
If you believe one of your students may benefit from this support, please submit a referral via EBS.
Indicators that a student may benefit from a Visual Stress Test include:
- Frequent headaches
- Eye strain
- Difficulty maintaining focus
- Blurred vision
- Letters appearing to move or distort while reading
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like further information or guidance on identifying these signs in your students.

Exam Provisions
The deadline for exam provision requests has now passed—thank you to everyone who submitted applications on behalf of their students.
Please note that Amy Ware will be leaving the Learning Support team at the beginning of next month. However, she has scheduled reminders in staff calendars for upcoming exam provision deadlines. We encourage all tutors to keep an eye out for these prompts and continue submitting requests to ensure students receive the support they need.
The exam provision process is as follows:
- Tutor identifies a potential need for access arrangements by completing the Normal Way of Working form. This must be supported by evidence and not simply a Word document referring Learning Support to the student’s work.
- Referral is made to Learning Support
- Learning Support completes the Exam Arrangements Request via the exam boards
- Application is submitted for approval (access arrangement is either approved or declined)
- Tutor completes the exam booking accordingly
If you have any questions about exam provision, please feel free to contact Amy or any member of the Learning Support Team.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring equitable access for all students.
