Welcoming our new ACE lead!

Hello Everyone, I’m Amanda Berry, I’m very excited to be joining the Highlands team in January in the role of Head of Adult & Community Education.

A bit about me! I’ve been working for Acorn and Jersey Employment Trust for the last 10 years and during that time I’ve carried out a number of different roles which have mainly been focused on training and development for people with disabilities with my most recent role managing the amazing shop team.

Prior to that I worked for Back to Work and created development programmes for different groups to improve their employability and support them back to work. Groups I worked with included parent returners and long term job seekers.

I’m very passionate about people and supporting the local community. In my spare time I enjoy singing in a choir (what I lack in talent I make up for in enthusiasm!) and walking my dogs in our beautiful island.
