The Sleep Clinic; The Power
Lydia Falle from the Sleep Clinic gave a fascinating presentation to staff last week, included is the PowerPoint from the session. If you would like to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact Michael Watkins. The summary of the presentation is below but much more detail in the attachment.
- Sleep is so important for our mental and physical wellbeing
- We all have different sleep needs depending on our age, gender and chronotype
- We all need a bedtime routine, part of this should be exposure to darkness to help melatonin levels rise.
- We should only get into bed when we are sleepy tired.
- We should give ourselves (what feels like) 30 minutes to get to sleep using a distraction technique to prevent the thoughts coming and keeping us awake.
- If we can’t sleep, it’s better to get up and leave the bedroom
- Routine and light exposure is key for good sleep.

Centrepoint Hamper Appeal
Here are the details of the Centrepoint Christmas Hamper Appeal, including donation ideas and drop-off points. Reading the stories of families in need was heart-wrenching, and choosing just one to support was even harder. This incredible charity does so much for our community. If everyone contributes something small—either individually or as a team—we can make a real difference to their Christmas.
