Performing Arts – Is Anybody Out There?
The Performing Arts Level 3 students Creative Arts JPQ students have together raised £236.26 for the charities JAYF and Malindi Bright Future Academy (Kitchen Fundraiser) on Wednesday 29 May through donations and merchandise (students designed the branding) purchases following a matinee and evening performance of ‘Is Anybody Out There’.
This was an immersive production devised by the performing arts students, with most of the JPQ creative arts students working alongside as either performers, stage crew or film crew. This was probably one of the most challenging productions the students had ever undertaken as the audience were very much involved in every part of the action and required the cast to perform beyond their script. The students were all fantastic in their roles, both on stage and off and have learnt a great deal from this experience.
The performing arts students wanted to raise money instead of charging for tickets as they believe strongly in supporting others less fortunate than themselves. The audiences were extremely complimentary for both performances and supported us by donating for the charities.
