Misconceptions about Autism – Art Exhibition
Learning support visited an exhibition by a Jersey-based artist which aims to shed light on the way autism affects women.
Ms Knight, who was diagnosed with autism last year, hopes the exhibition will help to challenge misconceptions about autism and promote a culture of understanding and acceptance.
She said: “This exhibition for me is about creating conversation, bringing important awareness to autism.
“It was really nerve-wracking but I was thrilled to be given this opportunity to finally showcase my first solo show.
“Art has always been very therapeutic and this has given me the platform to deep-dive into the whole process of creating a collection of works that I’m really proud of, and it’s also given me the confidence to take my passion further.”
We have reached out to Ms Knight, in the hope to make links with Highlands College in the future.
