Dreaming Trees 2024
This February half term, the Dreaming Trees illuminations will return to Howard Davis Park. This year’s theme is the four elements. The illuminations are being organised by the Department for Infrastructure and Environment, in association with the Creative Island Partnership and with sponsorship from Rathbones Investment Management International.
Dreaming Trees aims to encourage people of all ages outside into our parks and to think about the magic of the Wood Wide Web – the underground network trees use to communicate. To support the illuminations, free curriculum linked and family friendly resources are now available supporting Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1, 2 3 and 4, along with a young people and adults pack. The subjects supported by the resources are Mathematics, English, Languages, Geography, PE, Art and Design, Music and Science.
The resource packs also include details of how get involved and share your ideas about what trees are dreaming of. Visit gov.je/dreamingtrees for more information. The resources are also available on the Curriculum and Resources Sharepoint for teachers.
