On Wednesday we invited members of Soroptimists International Jersey into College to meet with our female students in STEM. They showcased the work they do for women in Jersey, and explained to our STEM students why they have chosen to donate another £4,500 to the Highlands Foundation in support of them.
The ladies from the Soroptimists hope to be able to remove financial barriers to young women who are entering male-dominated industries. Previous finding has gone towards purchasing toolboxes and equipment for aspiring electricians and plumbers, as well as IT equipment and software for students in DEC! and Computing.
