NEW STAFF
Zoe Mountford – Assistant Head of Learning Support and SEND
Zoe is the Assistant Head of Learning Support, a former student of Highlands College. She initially trained as a teacher in Physical Education & Science, and over the past 25 years has taken on Head of Year, Head of Department and Head of Faculty (Drama, Dance, Music & PE Departments) roles. Zoe started her teaching career in Hemel Hempstead then moved back home to Jersey to continue this further. She has taught at JCG for the past 18 years.
Zoe will predominantly be supporting Desiree Madelin managing a team of Team Leaders, Lead Key Workers, Lecturers and Administrators. Her role will also involve support for learners with Record of Needs, High/Low level support needs of learners on mainstream courses and the Exam arrangements provision.
Zoe has had a keen interest in SEND from an early age, working with students with a range of learning needs, specializing in those with ASD. She is very happy to be back working in this field with an amazing Learning Support Team around her.
Alisha Castledine – Learning Support Team Leader
Alisha is the newly appointed team leader of the learning support team alongside Fallon. She has worked within education in various roles for the last 12 years including learning support, Inclusion, ARC provisions and Education Welfare. She has completed her Web Autism qualification through Birmingham University and has a Certificate H.E. in Social Work. Her specific interests include Autism and ensuring education is available for all.
Alisha will work with Fallon to ensure all our staff and students have access to the support they need to be able to be successful and enjoy their time here at Highlands. She will also liaise between staff and students to work together to create a comfortable and productive learning environment.
