Health & Safety Update


In January 2023, a Fire Safety Report (commissioned by JPH) was carried out on all the Highlands College buildings. The outcome of this report was that fire risk issues were identified, and have been quantified as Intolerable, High, Moderate or Low risks.
We are currently focusing on the Intolerable and high risks, which are as follows:

Camden – Fire Escape Route Compromised |
Fire doors on the stair which discharges into the tunnel as the integrity of the stair is compromised and a fire from the ground floor can prevent escape from the first floor |

High Risk

The Fire Safety Group (comprising of Highlands College and CYPES) met with JPH and their architects on 19th of April 2023, to start the process of removing /minimise these risk


Also, a gentle reminder,
Under the fire regulations it is illegal to block fire escape routes and wedge Fire doors open.
Please can you ensure that all fire doors, in your areas, are not wedged open or fire routes blocked.
