HIC and Reception Update
You may have seen some exciting changes happening in the Highlands Information Centre (HIC). We are updating the entire area to ensure we are equipped to best serve our students and stakeholders. Main Reception has been custom built for us, after our new furniture installation over Christmas for our teams, with breakout spaces and directional signage installed clearly signposting support services (Estates, CIS, Administration, Student Records, Finance and Careers and Admissions). Please bear with us while we complete this wonderful step change to the service.
On April 27th, our new E-Reception (InVentry) was installed. This will completely change the way that we welcome visitors to our college and how we book meetings and appointments. I have attached a few links to give a short introduction to the system. Full clear Standard Operating Procedures and instructions will be rolled out over the next few weeks before we fully launch. it’s such a simple solution that is easy to use for all and reduces our paper-based service; it automatically sends ‘arriving at Highlands’ by email including a campus map, parking instructions, safeguarding policy agreement and authority to work for contractors on campus 24 hours before they arrive. It will notify you by email when your visitors arrive in reception.
Over the coming weeks, branding will be completed to ensure a warm welcome to Highlands College for all, and our reception team are in the process of moving from their temporary home in the porter’s lodge into our new main reception.
It has been wonderful to see our students feel more comfortable coming into the space, whether it’s to sit quietly in the ‘Nook’ charging their phones or plug in their devices outside finance to work or complete applications and paperwork with the support of our teams.
Please look out for further updates in the pipeline, including new furniture in the space with the ‘Nook’ to add an area for our students to utilise.
