🔹World Book Night
World Book Night takes place on Wednesday 23 April. Between 7pm and 8pm, people across Britain will be setting aside time to enjoy a good book!
Highlands College, in partnership with Jersey Library, will be giving out a free book on the day: The Mind Manual by Dr. Alex George.
.
.
Stephen will be based at Reception all morning on the 23rd to give out copies of this book, and he’ll also have a selection of fiction and non-fiction books for staff to borrow. You can also sign up to be a library member and find out more about the free online resources available to members of Highlands College Library.
.
Why is this important?
.
According to research conducted by The Reading Agency, 35% of all UK adults are now “lapsed readers”. There are many reasons for this, however extensive research has shown the benefits reading has on our wellbeing. 30 minutes of reading a week can make all the difference, so why not start on World Book Night? Set aside time between 7 and 8 on the 23 April and let us know what you are reading!
