🔹New Website: First Look
It’s been a very busy start to the year with the new website project – and it’s really exciting that we can share a sneak peak of what the new website could look like! ✨
But, before I give it all away at the top of this article, here’s a little update on what we’ve been working on behind the scenes! 💻
- At the end of the autumn term we wrapped up the user engagement workshops, which gave us loads of valuable insights. These have helped us shape key user personas—basically, making sure the site is designed with our students, staff, parents and employers (plus other stakeholder groups) in mind so they can find what they need easily.
.
- On the design front, things are moving fast! Wireframes, moodboards, and a fresh new homepage design have all reached phase 1 presentations, with great feedback from the website board helping to fine-tune everything.
- Content is also coming together, with a structured approach to gathering course materials and support info – thank you to all HoDs for being engaged in this process and to your teams for supporting with the workload! Your hard work now means the site will be packed with useful, up-to-date content from day one.
- And finally, we’ve commissioned filming for our website’s ‘evergreen’ videos – these are videos which will show off each of our sub-brand areas and be really high-quality. They’ll be produced to last us the next few years and we’ll be encouraging you to use them to showcase our incredible offering here at Highlands!
.
Hopefully I’ve not lost you yet… as here’s a sneak peak of our latest homepage design!
We’re really keen to hear your feedback – so please let us know via the MS Form (click here) or by coming to one of our drop-in sessions, where you’ll also see more! (details below)

Next steps?
We’ll be testing and refining before the big launch, and we’ll keep you all posted on when it’s going live!
In the meantime, if you have any suggestions or things you’d love to see included, let us know.
We’re hosting drop-in sessions where we’ll take you through the workings of the new website including; how you’ll be able to navigate to your department’s pages, design ideas for each sub-brand, how course information might be displayed and much more!
.
BTS (Behind the Scenes) drop in sessions are:
Wednesday 26 February: 12:15 – 13:15 in UC 214
Friday 28 February: 12:15 – 13:15 in TU 108
And all that’s left to say, is watch this space! 🚀
Thank you for all your support,
Jess & the website team!😆
