Job role:Â Volunteer for Student Records
Why did you want to join Highlands?
My military application fell through after failing the health check in August (nothing serious, they’re extremely strict on them). I had spent the whole of 2024 until that point training for it, so having that path abruptly close off left me stranded. I was told that Highlands could use help so I volunteered for wherever they’d have me. I was placed in the Student Records department and have been learning as much as I can whilst using my varied skillset to do my part in improving the college.
Are you from Jersey?
I was born in Essex but moved to Jersey when I was young. I’ve basically grown up here! I’ve always loved the natural features of the island, from the beaches to the smaller forests. I’m always finding new places to explore.
Tell us something we may not know about you?
I’m a bass player! I’ve done music production since 2019 and studied fine art since 2014. My specialist areas are hyper realism and abstract, and I prefer to play any song that highlights the melody of the bass. The hardest song I can play is Death of the Celts by Iron Maiden, whilst my favourite songs to play are Jimmy by TOOL, Sober by TOOL, and The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden.
