🔹Chief Minister Thanks Staff for ‘Enthusiasm & Commitment’
We recently welcomed the Chief Minister as part of the launch of the Government of Jersey’s Investing in People Plan. The visit formed a key part of ongoing discussions about securing a fit-for-purpose College and University facility in St Helier by 2032.

Over the course of his visit, we showcased the challenges faced across our estate, from limited inclusion and welfare facilities to a lack of flexible teaching spaces and the constraints of our current buildings. Staff continued with lessons and activities as planned, and every effort was made to minimise disruption to learning.
The visit was also a chance to highlight the exceptional work delivered by our teams every day, despite outdated infrastructure and limited resources.

The Chief Minister was genuinely impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of our staff, and asked us to pass on his thanks, especially for the warm welcome, the tea, and the “delicious cake”.
Deputy Farnham also said that Highlands College should receive an award for operating from “the most unusual set of buildings”.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit a success.
