š Robās Off to Kenya with JOA! š°šŖ
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a little update – I’m about to embark on an amazing adventure with Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA), heading to Ukambani, Kenya to help build a sand dam!
Living in Jersey, we donāt have to think twice about where our next drop of water comes from, but for many communities in Kenya, itās a daily struggle. This sand dam will provide a year-round water source, helping local farmers grow food and support their familiesāitās a small but life-changing project!
With just a few days to go, the excitement (and, letās be honest, a few nerves!) is really kicking in.

Our team is a mix of tradespeople, medics, project managers and educators. Weāve been training hard – including a freezing February sea swim to test our teamwork!āļø
Now, weāre ready to get stuck in, work alongside the local community, and take on an experience thatās about so much more than just building, itās about people, resilience and making a real difference.
Wish me luckāKenya, here we come! āļøš
