Hairdressing Students Inspired by Industry Legend at Exclusive Wella Event

Students and local professionals were treated to an unforgettable evening of inspiration and education, as Highlands College welcomed four-time British Hairdresser of the Year, Akin Konizi, for a special Look & Learn session, hosted in partnership with Wella.

The event began with a live colour update presented by a Wella Technician, offering attendees the latest insights into current trends and product innovations. This was followed by an in-depth demonstration from Akin Konizi himself – a true icon in the world of hairdressing. Throughout the evening, guests were given a rare opportunity to watch Konizi at work, showcasing his signature cutting techniques on live models. The session was packed with practical tips, industry knowledge, and an exploration of both creative and commercial styles that can be translated directly into salon work.

For students, it was not only a chance to learn from one of the best in the business but also a powerful reminder of the creativity and passion that define the profession.

“It was a very inspirational night, full of new skills and techniques. We learnt an awful lot in the time we spent with him,” said one hairdressing student.
